Barolo Bricco San Pietro 2016 Anna Maria Abbona
Barolo Bricco San Pietro 2016 by Anna Maria Abbona is 100% Nebbiolo from Monforte d’Alba, one of the most prestigious and characterful subzones within the Barolo DOCG appellation. The vineyards, 8–10 years old, are planted at 450–500 meters above sea level on tuff and calcareous marl soils with south/southeast exposure—conditions that ensure slow, complete ripening and a perfect balance between power and finesse.
Hand-harvested grapes undergo traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in large Slavonian oak casks, a choice that highlights Nebbiolo’s purity and terroir expression. The wine shows an intense garnet hue, with a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, dried rose, sweet spices, licorice, and subtle balsamic hints.
On the palate, it is structured and austere yet refined, with firm but silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and long aromatic persistence. The exceptional 2016 vintage delivers a wine of balance and depth, promising excellent cellar potential. Ideal for meditation or pairing with braised meats, game, and aged cheeses.
