The cultivation of the vine in this region is particularly difficult due to the morphology of the land and the modest quantity of the harvest is produced with high and admirable efforts. However, Liguria produces quality wines with particular organoleptic characteristics due to the exposure of the vineyards on the sea. The main white grapes of the region are Vermentino, Albarola and Bosco, from which the famous "Cinque Terre" wine is produced and with the same dried grapes the excellent and rare "Schiacchetrà" is produced. Among the white grapes we also find the Pigato.
Although the production of red wines is not vast, it is still interesting. The main red grapes of the region are Ormeasco, the name with which Dolcetto, Rossese and Ciliegiolo are known in Liguria.
