Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco 2019 Magnum Vietti
Vietti’s Nebbiolo Perbacco is often referred to as a “baby Barolo” – and for good reason. It’s made from Nebbiolo grapes grown within the Barolo appellation, some of which, in many vintages, would be suitable for the estate’s top Barolo bottlings. Vietti intentionally bottles it as Langhe Nebbiolo, offering a Barolo-level wine at a fraction of the price.
Fermented in stainless steel and aged for around two years in large Slavonian oak casks, Perbacco mirrors the classic winemaking approach used for Vietti’s Barolo. The result is a structured, elegant red wine, rich in varietal character and depth.
The nose bursts with aromas of ripe red cherry, dried rose, violet, spice, tobacco and hints of forest floor. The palate is full and round, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish.
A superb introduction to the Langhe’s Nebbiolo, Perbacco is a versatile and sophisticated food wine, ideal with roasted meats, mushroom dishes, aged cheeses, or hearty pastas.
