The Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC 2024 by Francesco Rinaldi & Figli showcases the refined and approachable side of Nebbiolo, one of Italy's most celebrated native grape varieties. Established in 1870 in the village of Barolo, Francesco Rinaldi & Figli remains committed to traditional winemaking, producing wines that faithfully express the identity of the Langhe through patience, balance and respect for the vineyard.
The grapes are grown exclusively in the municipality of Verduno, an area renowned for producing Nebbiolo wines of remarkable elegance and aromatic precision. The local climate and vineyard conditions encourage slow ripening, preserving freshness while allowing the grape's delicate floral character to develop fully.
Winemaking follows classic Piedmontese tradition. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks, with approximately 15 to 20 days of skin contact and regular pump-overs to achieve gentle extraction. The wine is then aged for around twelve months in medium-sized Slavonian oak casks, followed by several additional months in bottle, allowing the aromas and tannins to integrate while maintaining freshness and varietal purity.
The wine shows a bright ruby red colour, naturally moderate in intensity, true to the Nebbiolo grape. The bouquet is delicate and expressive, revealing rose petals, violets, fresh red berries and subtle spice. On the palate it is dry, medium to full-bodied and beautifully balanced, supported by fine-grained tannins and lively acidity that lead to a long, elegant finish.
The Nebbiolo d'Alba by Francesco Rinaldi & Figli pairs beautifully with tajarin pasta, agnolotti, roasted meats, braised beef, grilled red meats, porcini mushrooms and aged cheeses. Best served at 16–17°C, it is a timeless expression of traditional Langhe Nebbiolo, combining elegance, drinkability and a strong sense of place.
