The Barbaresco DOCG by Francesco Rinaldi & Figli reflects the estate's deep commitment to preserving the classic identity of Piedmont's great Nebbiolo wines. Although the winery is based in the village of Barolo, the Rinaldi family has been producing Barbaresco since the early 1960s, thanks to a historic authorization allowing vinification outside the denomination's boundaries. This unique heritage has enabled the estate to apply the same traditional approach that has defined its wines for more than 150 years.
The grapes are sourced exclusively from vineyards located in the municipality of Barbaresco, where Nebbiolo develops exceptional aromatic elegance and finely textured tannins. Careful vineyard management and patient harvesting ensure perfectly balanced fruit capable of expressing the distinctive identity of this historic terroir.
Winemaking follows classic Langhe traditions. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with approximately 15 to 20 days of skin contact to gently extract colour, tannins and aromatic complexity. The wine is then aged for at least twenty-four months in medium-sized Slavonian oak casks, allowing its structure to soften while preserving freshness and varietal purity.
In the glass, it displays a ruby red colour with delicate garnet reflections. The bouquet reveals dried rose petals, ripe red berries and sweet spices, complemented by subtle balsamic nuances that emerge with aeration. The palate is dry, intense and beautifully balanced, supported by refined tannins and vibrant acidity that provide both elegance and ageing potential. The finish is long, savoury and gently spiced.
The Barbaresco DOCG by Francesco Rinaldi & Figli pairs beautifully with truffle pasta, agnolotti, roast meats, braised beef, game birds and aged cheeses. Best served at 16–17°C, it is a classic expression of Barbaresco, combining tradition, finesse and the unmistakable character of Nebbiolo.
