Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 Jean-Claude Ramonet
The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 from Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet is a benchmark example of high-quality regional Burgundy, crafted by one of the most respected producers in the Côte de Beaune, renowned for its exceptional wines from Chassagne-Montrachet.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, this wine comes from carefully selected parcels located near the estate’s prestigious vineyards. Even at the Bourgogne level, Ramonet applies the same meticulous and traditional approach used for its Premier and Grand Cru wines, aiming to express terroir with clarity and precision.
Winemaking follows a classic Burgundian style: grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak barrels. The wine is then aged on fine lees for several months, with oak used sparingly to enhance structure without overpowering the fruit.
In the glass, it shows a bright pale yellow color. The nose is refined and expressive, offering aromas of fresh citrus (lemon, grapefruit), white flowers, and green apple, complemented by subtle hints of hazelnut, butter, and toasted bread.
On the palate, the wine is fresh, balanced, and mineral-driven, with lively acidity providing energy and lift. The texture is slightly creamy from lees aging, leading to a clean and persistent finish.
The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023 Ramonet is highly versatile, ideal as an aperitif or paired with fish, shellfish, white meats, and fresh cheeses. It offers an accessible yet authentic introduction to the style of one of Burgundy’s finest producers.
