Sole e Vento 2022 – De Bartoli
The Sole e Vento 2022 is a remarkable expression of two Sicilian terroirs, combining tradition and innovation. Created by Marco De Bartoli in 1997, it blends Grillo and Zibibbo to capture the power of the Marsala sun and the refreshing winds of Pantelleria. The hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle destemming and cold maceration for about 24 hours. After soft pressing, the must rests at low temperature for 48 hours before the clear fraction ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, using indigenous yeasts to preserve fruit purity.
Aging in stainless steel for 7 months emphasizes freshness, minerality, and elegant structure while maintaining aromatic integrity. The wine shows a bright yellow color, with aromas of white fruits, citrus, white flowers, and subtle herbs, reflecting the blend’s two distinct origins. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and mineral, with a smooth, persistent finish. Perfect with marinated fish, seasoned first courses, vegetable soups, or grilled fish, or enjoyed alone to savor the harmony of sun and wind in a bottle.
