Valfaccenda – Roero Bianco 2021 DOCG
The Roero Bianco 2021 DOCG by Valfaccenda is a contemporary and highly expressive interpretation of the Roero’s flagship white grape, Arneis, crafted with an artisanal and terroir-focused philosophy. The project is built around the idea that a vineyard is not a single entity, but a mosaic of micro-terroirs that must be interpreted individually.
The grapes come mainly from two vineyards located near the Madonna di Loreto hamlet in Valle Faccenda, within the MGA zones of Loreto and Mompellini. Each parcel differs in soil composition, exposure and vine vigor, contributing unique characteristics to the final blend. Rather than homogenizing these differences, the winery preserves and enhances them throughout the winemaking process.
Vinification is designed to express complexity and tension. The wine is the result of combining two approaches: one part is produced through fermentation of pure juice, while the other undergoes whole grape fermentation, including intact berries. The proportions vary depending on the vintage and climatic conditions, ensuring that each year’s wine is unique and unrepeatable. This dual approach adds structure, depth and aromatic layering.
After aging, the wine is bottled according to lunar phases, specifically during the waning moon of late spring, and released on the market the following autumn. This extended rest period allows the wine to reach full balance and definition before commercial release.
In the glass, the Roero Bianco 2021 shows a precise and mineral-driven profile. The nose is refined and multi-layered, while the palate is defined by strong sapidity, vertical freshness and dynamic structure. Aromatics are seamlessly integrated into a fine yet present structure, delivering length and precision.
A white wine that focuses on purity, identity and tension rather than excess, ideal for those seeking gastronomic whites deeply connected to their origin.
