Langhe Rosso Monsordo 2016 Ceretto
The Langhe Rosso Monsordo 2016 is the result of Ceretto’s dedication to producing elegant and structured red wines from Piedmont. Combining the power of Cabernet Sauvignon, the softness of Merlot, and the complexity of Syrah, it creates a harmonious and expressive blend. The grapes come from the historic Monsordo Bernardina estate, where viticultural experiments in the 1990s helped identify the best varieties for the region. Each grape variety undergoes separate fermentation, with malolactic fermentation in 300-liter tonneaux, followed by 12-14 months aging in wood before final blending, tailored each year to achieve optimal balance.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with subtle garnet highlights. The nose reveals ripe red fruit, cherries, blackcurrants, complemented by spiced and vanilla notes from oak maturation. On the palate, it is rich, harmonious, with smooth tannins and a long, elegant finish, ideal for traditional Piedmontese dishes such as agnolotti al plin, roasted meats, and truffle risotto. The Langhe Rosso Monsordo perfectly marries the international character of Bordeaux varieties with the unique identity of the Langhe, delivering elegance, structure, and longevity in every sip.
