Chianti Riserva Casanova 2016 La Spinetta
La Spinetta’s Chianti DOCG Riserva Casanova is a single-vineyard wine made from 100% Sangiovese grown in Terricciola, in the heart of Tuscany. The vineyard’s sandy, marine-origin soils, rich in oceanic sediments and calcium carbonate, contribute to the wine’s elegance and unique personality.
After a 14–15 day maceration in temperature-controlled tanks, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in second-passage French oak barrels. It is then aged for 24 months in large oak casks, followed by another 6 months in bottle.
The nose offers floral and fruity aromas, with violet, wild berries, and Mediterranean spice notes. On the palate, it is dry and savory, yet velvety and balanced, with polished tannins and a long, elegant finish.
Ideal with Tuscan classics like ribollita or red wine-braised beef stew, this Chianti Riserva reflects La Spinetta’s philosophy of producing wines that enhance the character of specific sites and grape varieties. Average production: 10,000 bottles per year.
