List of products by brand LA SPINETTA
La Spinetta is one of Italy’s most iconic wineries. Founded by the Rivetti family, it stands for quality, innovation and deep terroir expression. From Barbaresco and Barolo crus to Tuscany, Alta Langa and Colli Tortonesi, each wine is a true reflection of place and vision.
MoreLa Spinetta’s journey began in the early 1960s with Giuseppe “Pin” and Lidia Rivetti, experienced farmers devoted to the land and its traditions. Today, under the guidance of their children Giorgio, Carlo, Bruno and Giovanna, La Spinetta stands as one of Italy’s most respected wine estates, renowned for its ability to blend innovation, elegance and deep respect for native varieties and terroir.
The first wines were single-vineyard Moscatos—Bricco Quaglia and Biancospino—followed in the 1980s by Cà di Pian Barbera and the international-style red “Il Pin”. The 1990s marked La Spinetta’s breakthrough in Barbaresco, with the release of cru bottlings from Gallina, Starderi and Valeirano. Over time, these were joined by structured Barberas and noble Barolos from Grinzane Cavour.
Driven by curiosity and ambition, the Rivetti family expanded into Tuscany in 2001 with Casanova della Spinetta, embracing the soul of Sangiovese. In 2011, they acquired Contratto, a historic Alta Langa sparkling wine producer, reviving it with their high-quality standards. The latest frontier is Timorasso, a native white grape grown in the Colli Tortonesi, where La Spinetta sees world-class potential.
La Spinetta practices certified organic farming, minimal intervention, and extremely low yields (never exceeding 30 hl/ha). Every vineyard is treated with profound respect and attention, fostering biodiversity and expressing each cru’s unique personality. Techniques like green harvesting, summer cluster thinning, and manual selection ensure exceptional grape quality.
Each La Spinetta wine—be it a fresh white, a powerful red, or a sparkling Alta Langa—tells a story of terroir, family, and ambition. These are expressive, structured and long-lived wines that embody the best of Italian viticulture.
