Homme de la Roche 2023 by Romain Le Bars is a bold and vibrant expression of Carignan, a historic grape of the Rhône Valley. Sourced from over 40-year-old vines grown on sandy and pebble-strewn soils, this natural red wine undergoes a 9-day carbonic maceration, with no fining or filtration, and is aged in neutral oak barrels to preserve its pure fruit expression.
The nose bursts with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe cherries, and grenadine, complemented by subtle spices and hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, with an energetic structure and a silky, lingering finish. The balance between lively acidity and smooth texture makes it exceptionally drinkable and food-friendly.
Ideal for any occasion, from aperitif to dinner, it pairs beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, tapas, grilled meats, and spiced vegetarian cuisine. Decanting for at least 30 minutes is recommended to enhance its aromatic purity.
