Vouvray Sec 2021 Domaine Vincent Carême
The Vouvray Sec Domaine Vincent Carême captures the essence of the Vouvray AOC, one of the Loire Valley’s most prestigious appellations, known for showcasing the versatility and refinement of the Chenin Blanc grape.
Produced from vines around 45 years old, planted on soils rich in clay, flint, and limestone, this wine perfectly reflects the terroir of Vouvray, which imparts mineral character, complexity, and impressive aging potential. Harvesting is carried out by hand to ensure only the best grapes are selected and to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Fermentation and aging take place in large oak vats and 400-liter barrels for about 9 months, a process that adds structure and subtle complexity while maintaining the vibrant varietal character of Chenin Blanc.
In the glass, the Vouvray Sec displays a bright straw-yellow color. The bouquet is elegant and expressive, with slight smoky hints, vineyard peach, and fresh citrus notes. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and mineral-driven, offering balance, freshness, and a lingering finish that echoes its fruity and citrusy aromas.
This Loire Valley white wine is ideal as a sophisticated aperitif, paired with light bites or delicate canapés. At the table, it is an excellent match for seafood, shellfish, and fish-based dishes, enhancing preparations such as bouillabaisse, cod fritters, or grilled fish fillets. With its versatility, elegance, and strong sense of terroir, the Vouvray Sec Domaine Vincent Carême is a wine that embodies both tradition and refinement, appealing to those seeking an authentic and characterful Loire white.
