Crémant de Limoux Rosé Brut Domaine Astruc
The Crémant de Limoux Rosé Brut by Domaine Astruc is one of the most refined sparkling expressions of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Nestled at the foothills of the Pyrenees, the Limoux appellation combines altitude, fresh climate and clay-limestone soils, creating ideal conditions for producing wines of great balance and finesse.
Domaine Astruc covers around 50 hectares, half of which lie within the AOC Limoux area. Since 2002, the estate has been under the leadership of Jean Claude Mas, a passionate négociant-winemaker who combines innovation with respect for tradition. His approach is based on enhancing each terroir through sustainable and eco-friendly viticulture, banning chemical treatments in favor of natural and biological practices.
This Crémant Rosé comes from 20- to 30-year-old vines planted on clay-limestone soils. The blend is dominated by Chardonnay (70%), which brings elegance and body, complemented by Chenin Blanc (20%) for freshness and minerality, and Pinot Noir (10%), adding delicate fruity notes and color. After hand-harvesting and vinification, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in bottle following the Traditional Method, with extended lees aging that enhances its creaminess and complexity.
In the glass, it displays a charming salmon-pink color with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is elegant and expressive, with red berries, wildflowers, citrus zest, and hints of rosehip. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, combining lively minerality with creamy texture and refined fruit expression. The finish is long, elegant and pleasantly persistent.
Winner of a Silver Medal at Effervescents du Monde 2019, the Crémant de Limoux Rosé Brut by Domaine Astruc is the perfect choice for those seeking a stylish sparkling wine with personality and finesse. Ideal as an elegant aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with seafood, sushi, delicate poultry, white meats and soft cheeses. With its versatile and convivial character, it stands as an authentic and charming alternative to Champagne.
