Langhe Nebbiolo 2024 G.B. Burlotto
The Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2024 by G.B. Burlotto offers a different perspective on one of Piedmont’s most noble grapes. Often overshadowed by the power and authority of Barolo and Barbaresco, Nebbiolo here is presented in its youthful, luminous and unexpectedly gentle form, without sacrificing identity or depth.
The grapes come from high-quality vineyards, selected either for their younger age or for specific climatic conditions that make them ideal for highlighting Nebbiolo’s most immediate and elegant characteristics. Harvesting is done by hand, with grapes placed in 20 kg crates to ensure optimal fruit integrity and careful selection.
After destemming, the must is transferred by gravity into open French oak vats and stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. During maceration, very gentle daily pump-overs and punch-downs are carried out, aiming for finesse rather than power. Malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel, followed by ageing in large French oak casks, preserving freshness and varietal purity.
Bottling generally takes place between late August and early September of the year following harvest. In the glass, Langhe Nebbiolo 2024 stands out for its clarity, floral notes, delicate red fruit and refined tannins, offering a fluid, elegant and memorable drinking experience. A Nebbiolo of intimacy and precision, unmistakably signed by Burlotto.
