The Domaine d’Astruc, founded in 1862 in Malras, at the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon, is one of the region’s most historic wineries. Nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees, it manages around 80 hectares of vineyards, farmed sustainably and partly organic.

Since 2002, under the leadership of Jean-Claude Mas and the Astruc family, the estate combines tradition and innovation, crafting elegant wines and sparkling cuvées such as the iconic Blanquette de Limoux. Limestone soils and a climate influenced by both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic provide balance, freshness and fine aromatic expression.

The Domaine d’Astruc is a historic winery in the Languedoc-Roussillon, founded in 1862 by Jean Astruc in the village of Malras, in the Aude department, at the foothills of the Pyrenees. This area has an ancient winemaking tradition, where limestone soils and a unique microclimate have long supported the cultivation of both native and international grape varieties. In 2002 the estate was acquired by Jean-Claude Mas, a leading figure in southern French winemaking, who brought modern vision and sustainable practices, integrating the domaine into the Domaine Paul Mas group.

Today the estate covers 80 hectares of vineyards planted at 200–300 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils rich in gypsum, perfectly suited to producing wines of depth and character. White grape varieties include Mauzac, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc, while red plantings feature Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. About 20 hectares are dedicated to the Limoux AOC, home of the historic Blanquette de Limoux, a sparkling wine made from Mauzac, the region’s emblematic grape.

Viticulture here is sustainably managed, with part of the vineyards certified organic. All winemaking operations are carried out at the Château Teramas Astruc, a modern facility that ensures optimal conditions of temperature and humidity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and French and American oak barrels, while sparkling wines are produced with the Traditional Method, spending at least 9 months aging on the lees.

The result is a collection of wines marked by freshness, balance and authenticity: from the lively bubbles of Blanquette de Limoux to mineral, aromatic whites and velvety reds, each bottle reflects the true spirit of the Languedoc. With over 160 years of history, Domaine d’Astruc remains a benchmark estate, combining family heritage with forward-looking winemaking.
