Domaine Capitain Gagnerot Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2023
The Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2023 from Domaine Capitain Gagnerot is produced from 100% Pinot Noir grown on loam-clay soils with low limestone content, a terroir that enhances aromatic precision and textural finesse. The Domaine’s approach focuses on respectful winemaking, allowing the vineyard and vintage to speak clearly through the wine.
The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted and destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in open vats for around 15 days, with regular punch-downs during the early stages to ensure gentle extraction of color and aromas. The wine is then aged for 12 to 15 months in oak barrels, with only 10% new oak, preserving freshness, purity and varietal character.
In the glass, it shows a bright, delicate purple hue. The nose opens with fresh cherry aromas, evolving toward ripe red fruit notes with subtle kirsch-like nuances, all finely integrated. On the palate, it is round yet vibrant, supported by a lively acidity that adds energy and length to the finish.
A highly versatile and food-friendly Burgundy Pinot Noir, ideal with poultry, veal, delicate fish dishes, medium-aged cheeses, and lightly spiced cuisine. A sincere and expressive interpretation of classic Burgundy.
