Morenico Vino Rosso 2020 Valchyara
The Morenico Vino Rosso from Valchyara is one of the purest expressions of heroic viticulture in Valchiusella, part of the morainic amphitheatre of Ivrea in Piedmont. The grapes are grown on steep terraces at 500 meters of altitude, in an unspoiled natural setting that ensures slow ripening and remarkable aromatic depth.
The winemaking fully reflects the estate’s low-intervention philosophy: spontaneous fermentation in concrete vats with 30–35 days of submerged-cap maceration, during which malolactic fermentation also occurs. After gentle pressing, the wine matures for 13 months in French oak tonneaux, and is then bottled without fining or filtration, preserving the grape’s full identity and the mineral character of the morainic soils.
Produced in only 600 bottles per year, this wine captures the artisanal spirit of Valchyara. The bouquet reveals layers of dark forest berries, followed by smoky nuances, balsamic tones and hints of eucalyptus. On the palate it balances structure with freshness, offering fine tannins and elegance reminiscent of Piedmont’s finest reds.
A wine of authenticity and style, ideal with red meats, game, mushrooms and aged cheeses, yet versatile enough to pair across the table. The Morenico Vino Rosso is a true manifesto of Valchyara’s philosophy: pure wines that safeguard a unique terroir.
