The Chablis Premier Cru Montmains 2023 comes from vineyards planted on classic clay-limestone soils within the Chablis appellation. The Chardonnay grapes are carefully harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts, including malolactic fermentation, without added yeasts.
The wine is aged 12 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 6 months in oak barrels, a process that enhances structure while preserving freshness and terroir expression.
In the glass it shows a bright straw-yellow color with green reflections. The nose reveals aromas of ripe citrus, green apple and pear, layered with white flowers, chalk and flint, alongside subtle saline notes.
On the palate it is tense, vibrant and highly mineral, with crisp acidity supporting flavors of white-fleshed fruit and delicate oak nuances that remain perfectly integrated. The finish is long, savory and persistent.
Domaine Gérard Duplessis, located in Chablis, has been passed down through five generations of winemakers and is now run by Lilian Duplessis. The estate covers around 10 hectares across multiple appellations and has been certified organic since 2013, producing precise and terroir-driven wines.
