Canavese Rosso “Paribun” 2021 – La Masera
The Canavese Rosso “Paribun” 2021 by La Masera embodies the essence of the Canavese hills, a fascinating terroir located between Settimo Rottaro and Piverone, within the morainic amphitheatre of Ivrea in Northern Piedmont. Here, the sandy-clay and stony soils and the cool Alpine climate give birth to wines that are fresh, structured and mineral.
This red blend, made from 70% Barbera and 30% Freisa and Vespolina, showcases the traditional grapes of the region. The grapes are hand-harvested in early October, gently destemmed and pressed, and the must ferments in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with about 10 days of maceration and regular pump-overs to extract aroma and color.
After fermentation, the wine ages in steel for 8–10 months, where it also undergoes malolactic fermentation, ensuring roundness and aromatic purity. The result is a vibrant, ruby-colored red wine offering fruity and spicy aromas, a soft and enveloping texture, and a finish that’s both persistent and savory.
Perfect to pair with Piedmontese dishes, from roasted meats and agnolotti with ragù to bagna cauda and mixed fried specialties, the La Masera Paribun 2021 expresses a genuine sense of place and tradition.
