Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle 2020 Cave Mont Blanc
The Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle 2020 from Cave Mont Blanc perfectly represents the heroic alpine winemaking of Valle d’Aosta, one of Europe’s highest wine-growing regions. Made from 100% Prié Blanc, a rare pre-phylloxera native variety, it is grown at altitudes between 900 and 1,200 meters on sandy, rocky soils at the foot of Mont Blanc.
This wine is part of the “Vini Estremi” project, which celebrates traditional mountain viticulture and natural winemaking. Fermentation occurs at natural cellar temperatures using selected indigenous yeasts, to preserve the purity and typicity of the Prié Blanc grape.
In the glass, it displays a bright straw-yellow color with greenish hues. The bouquet opens with fresh citrus, green apple, and wet stone, followed by subtle hints of fresh-cut grass and almond. On the palate, it’s crisp, sapid, and well-structured, with a lively acidity and a long, mineral finish.
A mountain white wine of striking clarity and character, ideal with seafood, shellfish, and delicate fish dishes. The Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle stands as a pure expression of Valle d’Aosta’s extreme alpine terroir.
