Carema Riserva ‘Etichetta Bianca’ 2018 Produttori di Carema
The Carema Riserva ‘Etichetta Bianca’ 2018 from Produttori di Carema is a standout example of mountain Nebbiolo from northern Piedmont. Produced in the Carema DOC, near the Aosta Valley, this area has a millennial winemaking history: as early as 1539, the papal cellar master described Carema as “an excellent drink for princes and lords.” Terraced vineyards on morainic soils, up to 650 meters in altitude, make cultivation challenging, rendering each bottle rare and precious.
Hand-harvested grapes from topia-trained vines are vinified with care. The wine ages for 3 years, with at least 12 months in large oak casks, developing elegance, complexity, and structure.
Visually, the Etichetta Bianca Riserva shows medium-intensity ruby red with garnet reflections. The bouquet reveals rose, wild berries, balsamic herbs, licorice, dried flowers, with roasted coffee and sweet spice notes of cinnamon and cocoa. On the palate, it is full-bodied, harmonious, fresh, and sapid, with smooth tannins and a persistent finish.
Perfect with red meats, game, roasts, and traditional Piedmontese dishes, this Riserva offers a unique combination of history, mountain terroir, and refinement in every sip.
