Founded in 1999 in Vouvray, at the heart of the Loire Valley, the Domaine Vincent Carême is dedicated to producing white wines from Chenin Blanc. Today it covers around 24 hectares of organically farmed vineyards on clay, flint, and limestone soils. Manual harvesting, the use of native yeasts, and aging in 16th-century troglodyte caves guarantee wines of character and authenticity. A winery that blends tradition, passion, and innovation, with projects extending as far as South Africa.

The Domaine Vincent Carême, located in Vouvray in the Loire Valley, is one of the region’s most exciting wineries, entirely dedicated to the Chenin Blanc grape. Founded in 1999 with only 5 hectares of vineyards, it has grown to nearly 24 hectares, planted on diverse terroirs of clay, flint, and limestone, which bring complexity, minerality, and remarkable longevity to its wines.

Since 2003, the estate has followed the principles of organic viticulture, achieving Ecocert certification in 2007. The aim is to highlight the full potential of Chenin Blanc through a wide range of styles: from dry, crisp whites to more structured, age-worthy expressions, and refined sparkling wines produced with the traditional method.

In 2004, the domaine acquired Le Clos, a property that includes ancient 16th-century troglodyte caves and two hectares of vineyards. Here, vinification takes place using only indigenous yeasts, ensuring that each wine faithfully expresses the identity of its terroir. The vineyards, with vines ranging from 10 to over 80 years old, are hand-harvested to guarantee the highest quality fruit.

Since 2013, Vincent and his wife Tania have also crafted Chenin Blanc in South Africa’s Swartland region, where schist and granite soils reveal a completely different yet complementary expression of this versatile grape.

The result is a portfolio of wines that embody authenticity, elegance, and a deep connection to the land. Combining artisanal savoir-faire, passion, and innovation, the Domaine Vincent Carême has become a benchmark for Loire Valley wines, producing bottles that are both traditional and forward-looking, capable of evolving beautifully with time.
