"Versante Nord" Uve Bianche 2022 Eduardo Torres Acosta
Versante Nord Uve Bianche is a white wine produced by Eduardo Torres Acosta using a combination of native Sicilian grapes, mainly Coda di Volpe and Minnella. Other grapes used may include Carricante, Catarratto and Inzolia, which help enrich the complexity of the wine. The vineyards from which these grapes are sourced are grown on the northern slope of Mount Etna in Sicily. The terroir of this area is characterized by volcanic soils, rich in minerals and with excellent drainage capacity. The altitude of the vineyards varies between 500 and 900 meters above sea level, with mainly northern exposure. This position offers greater freshness and acidity, preserving the vibrancy of the grapes.
Vinification of Versante Nord Uve Bianche involves spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement or stainless steel tanks, depending on the vintage. Maceration on the skins can last from a few hours to several days to extract more intense aromas and flavors. Afterwards, the wine is aged in cement or stainless steel tanks for several months before bottling.
Versante Nord Uve Bianche shows a straw yellow color with greenish highlights. On the nose, it offers aromas of white-fleshed fruit, citrus, white flowers and a slight hint of minerality. In the mouth, the wine is fresh, savory and mineral, with good acidity and a lingering finish.
