Edoardo Dottori's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico "Nardì" is an expression of a unique territory, that of the hills of San Paolo di Jesi, in the heart of the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi appellation. The vineyards lie on clay soil 285 meters above sea level, facing south, and are managed according to certified organic viticulture principles.
The blend is composed of 85 percent Verdicchio, the native variety that gives the appellation its name, and 15 percent Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia, which contribute complexity and roundness to the wine. The winery uses environmentally friendly farming techniques, such as green manure for fertilization and natural ground cover for soil management.
The harvest, which takes place between late September and early October, is strictly manual to ensure the selection of the best grapes. This is followed by soft pressing and cold static decantation to preserve the freshness and aromaticity of the must. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matures for six months in steel on fine lees to enhance structure and complexity. Further aging in bottle for at least six months enriches the wine's profile, giving it greater elegance and harmony.
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico "Nardì" shows a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, it offers fresh notes of white-fleshed fruit, wild flowers and a delicate mineral hint. On the palate, it is lively and well balanced, with nice acidity supporting a long, savory finish. It is a versatile wine with great personality, capable of fully expressing the character of its terroir of origin.
Ideal with fish dishes, shellfish and fresh cheeses, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico "Nardì" is also perfect as an aperitif, thanks to its freshness and drinkability. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 10-12°C.
