Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Marconnets 2019
The Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Marconnets 2019 by Domaine Simon Bize is a pure expression of Pinot Noir from one of the finest Premier Cru vineyards in the appellation.
Located north of the village on gravelly and limestone soils, the Les Marconnets parcel offers excellent drainage and sun exposure, giving wines of precision, structure, and longevity. Winemaking is traditional and minimalist: native yeast fermentation, partial whole-cluster vinification, and aging in French oak barrels (with up to 20% new wood) for 12 to 18 months.
In the glass, it reveals a bright ruby color with lifted aromas of roses, ripe red berries, exotic spices, musk, white pepper, and earthy tones. On the palate, it’s balanced, vibrant, and textural, showing juicy fruit, lively acidity, and fine, powdery tannins leading to a long, fragrant finish.
A classy and age-worthy Premier Cru, showcasing the elegance and character of Savigny-lès-Beaune.
