Gevrey Chambertin "En Champs" 2019 Domaine Philippe Livera
Gevrey Chambertin En Champs 2019 is a red wine from Burgundy produced using natural methods by Domaine Philippe Livera. The Pinot Noir grapes come from the "En Champs" vineyard, which is located on the border with Brochon, just below the premier cru "Champeaux". Here the soils are thin, and the limestone "mother rock" is close to the surface, giving the wines great minerality.
The wine is made using natural farming methods that aim to express the different terroirs in an authentic way. The fermentations are spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts, while the wine is aged in 40% new French oak barrels for a period of 11 to 18 months depending on the vintage.
This Gevrey Chambertin En Champs 2019 expresses on the nose aromas of small red fruits, white pepper and liquorice for an elegant and mineral sip with medium tannin.
