Meursault 2023 Antoine Jobard
Meursault 2023 by Antoine Jobard is a benchmark expression of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated white wine appellations. Representing the fifth generation of a family deeply rooted in Meursault since the nineteenth century, Antoine Jobard follows a philosophy built on meticulous vineyard work, low yields and minimal intervention, allowing each vineyard to express its unique identity.
The wine is produced from a carefully selected blend of several outstanding village parcels, including En la Barre, Les Tillets, Meix Tavaux, Les Corbins, Sous La Velle, Les Chaumes and Le Pré de Manche. These limestone-rich vineyards contribute depth, freshness and the distinctive mineral character for which Meursault is renowned.
After hand harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation in French oak barrels with only a very small proportion of new oak, preserving the purity and finesse of the fruit. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for approximately 20 to 23 months, developing remarkable texture, complexity and balance while maintaining exceptional freshness.
Brilliant golden yellow in colour, the nose reveals elegant aromas of Williams pear, white peach, ripe apple, citrus zest, white flowers, fresh hazelnut, subtle butter, delicate pastry notes and a distinctive flinty minerality. On the palate it is rich yet beautifully focused, combining creamy texture with vibrant acidity and precise saline tension. The finish is exceptionally long, refined and harmonious, promising graceful evolution for well over a decade.
This is a classic Meursault that perfectly balances generosity, elegance and terroir expression, making it one of the finest examples of white Burgundy.
