“Clematis Vitalba” is a white Burgundy wine that perfectly reflects the philosophy of Claire Naudin, a bold and independent winemaker based in Magny-lès-Villers, who has earned a reputation for producing soulful, minimal-intervention wines that honor the land.
Made from high-altitude Chardonnay vines growing on thin limestone-clay soils, this wine is named after the “Clematis Vitalba” plant—a tenacious vine that mirrors the character of both the vineyard and its caretaker. Grapes are hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed, and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged on fine lees for several months, bottled without filtration, and with minimal added sulfur.
On the nose, it reveals floral notes, citrus peel, fresh butter, and flint, while the palate is savory, mineral, and tension-filled, with great elegance and persistence. Ideal with scallops, shellfish, or vegetable-based haute cuisine. A white Burgundy for those seeking purity and depth.
