Gevrey Chambertin 2019 David Duband
Domaine David Duband's 2019 Gevrey Chambertin is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from old, east-facing vineyards about 65 years old from calcareous brown soils with the presence of alterites. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand, selected and vinified with 80% whole bunches for about 2 weeks.
After fermentation, the grapes are pressed and the wine is racked 40% into new barrels and 60% into first, second and third passage barrels. After 14 months of ageing, the wines are racked into vats, where they settle for about 3 months before being bottled without filtration or ageing.
David Duband's 2019 Gevrey Chambertin expresses a clear ruby red colour to the eye. It expresses a complex nose of spices and strawberries with a mentholated note. The sip is powerful with lively tannins. A pleasant freshness on the finish.
