Bordeaux Rouge Monopole 2019 Kressmann
The Bordeaux Rouge Monopole 2019 by Kressmann is one of the most refined and historic expressions of Bordeaux. The Kressmann House was founded in 1858 by Edouard Kressmann, who fell in love with the Bordeaux wine culture. In 1871, he established Ed. Kressmann & Cie to offer high-quality wines from exceptional terroirs. The philosophy of the founder was that wine excellence comes from blending wines from the same terroir, leading to the creation of the first Kressmann Monopole label in 1897, still present on the market today.
The Monopole 2019 is made from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, carefully selected for optimal ripeness and aromatic quality. Grapes are harvested at their peak, destemmed, and macerated for about twenty days. Following pneumatic pressing and blending, the wine is aged for twelve months in French oak barrels, imparting structure, complexity, and subtle toasted notes.
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color. The nose is broad and complex, revealing red berries such as cherry, currant, and morello cherry, with hints of tobacco, toasted wood, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is rich and harmonious: round, full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and fresh fruitiness. The finish is long and persistent, with echoes of mature fruit and oak, offering elegance and character.
Ideal with structured first courses, red meats, game dishes, and medium-aged cheeses, the Bordeaux Rouge Monopole 2019 is a classic, elegant, and generous Bordeaux that delights both wine enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
