Canavese Barbera “Barrique” 2021 Cantina 366
The Canavese Barbera “Barrique” 2021 from Cantina 366 is a perfect expression of traditional Piedmontese elegance and refinement. The grapes, 100% Barbera, are sourced from ancient vineyards aged 50–60 years, trained in pergola style, ensuring optimal ripening and sun exposure. Harvest takes place in the first ten days of October, after careful monitoring of grape maturity to guarantee healthy and aromatic clusters.
The winemaking process begins with destemming and gentle crushing, followed by approximately 10 days of maceration on the skins, allowing the must to extract color, aroma, and structure. After racking, the wine matures in stainless steel before 8–10 months in second-pass barriques, during which it develops subtle notes of vanilla, tobacco, and delicate spice.
Visually, the wine displays a bright, deep ruby red hue, while the nose reveals a complex bouquet of cherry, red fruits, and gentle balsamic hints. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, with soft tannins, balanced freshness, and elegant persistence in every sip.
The Canavese Barbera “Barrique” 2021 is versatile and pairs beautifully with roasts, grilled meats, and medium-bodied dishes. Served at the recommended 14–16°C, it highlights the fruity character of the Barbera grape and the finesse gained from wood aging. Each bottle reflects Cantina 366’s dedication to enhancing the autocthonous Canavese grapes and crafting superior-quality Barbera wines.
