Rabatiere Pineau D'Aunis 2021 Bertin-Delatte
Over the past ten years, the small town of Rablay-sur-Layon has become a small centre for young winegrowers in the Loire Valley. While the village was traditionally known for its sweet Chenin Blanc-based wines, Geneviève Delatte and Nicolas Bertin of Bertin-Delatte have chosen a different path, expressing their terroir through dry wines that are precise, structured and worthy of ageing.
All the vineyards are organically cultivated. In the cellar, the winemaking philosophy is very simple: intervene as little as possible and let nature take its course. Fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts and the use of SO2 is minimal. The result is a set of distinctive and pure wines, true to Geneviève and Nicolas' vision and terroir.
Bertin-Delatte's Rabatiere Pineau d'Aunis 2021 is made from 100% Pinot d'Aunis, a local red grape from the Loire region. Deep ruby in colour, it expresses vivid aromas of red flowers, cherry and wet earth on the nose, while the sip is characterised by soft tannins, refreshing acidity and a wonderful peppery note on the finish.
