Kerner 2022 Pacherhof
The Pacherhof Kerner 2022 Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC is a complete and expressive example of this aromatic grape variety in Alto Adige. Grown near Novacella in the Bressanone basin, between 600 and 900 meters above sea level, it benefits from a unique microclimate with strong temperature variations, essential for developing intense aromas and preserving freshness.
The soils, composed of permeable moraine deposits rich in mica schist, paragneiss, and quartzite, ensure excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s distinctive mineral character. The vines, aged between 12 and 26 years and trained in Guyot system, provide balanced yields and consistent quality.
Vinification includes a slow fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, followed by about 6 months of aging on fine lees in both steel tanks and large wooden casks. This results in a harmonious, structured, and complex wine.
On the nose, it reveals intense fruity notes of white peach and grapefruit, along with subtle floral and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is full, juicy, and fresh, with a balanced structure and a long, persistent finish. It offers an aging potential of around 7 years, gaining complexity over time.
Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs well with light appetizers, grilled fish, vegetable dishes, and speck. A refined and aromatic white that perfectly reflects the style of Pacherhof and the distinctive terroir of Valle Isarco.
