The 2020 Moscato Rosa from Franz Haas is a sophisticated expression of this unique Alto Adige aromatic variety. The grapes grow at an altitude of 250–300 meters in a windy area, facing south/south-west, on soils composed of porphyry, sand, clay, and limestone. The wind ensures optimal grape health, preventing moisture accumulation and botrytis, preserving color intensity and aromatic richness.
Vinification follows a red wine method, but with short maceration to avoid overly aggressive tannins. Fermentation is stopped using cold, preserving freshness and primary aromas. The wine then rests in stainless steel tanks until bottling, offering intense and refined aromas of rose, clove, cinnamon, and orange peel.
On the palate, the 2020 Moscato Rosa balances sweetness, acidity, and gentle tannins, presenting a harmonious structure and lingering finish.
