Côtes du Jura Grains de Poulsard 2022 Benoit Badoz
The Côtes du Jura Grains de Poulsard 2022 from Benoit Badoz is a true representation of the Jura’s unique wine heritage and one of its most emblematic grape varieties: Poulsard. Traditionally grown on the clay-limestone soils of the region, Poulsard produces wines unlike any other, combining a delicate colour, refined aromas and remarkable freshness.
The Grains de Poulsard cuvée was created to showcase the traditional Jura approach to this variety: a light red wine made with short maceration to preserve the purity of the fruit and the natural elegance of the grape. Domaine Benoit Badoz, based in Poligny and representing ten generations of family winemaking, crafts this wine with a philosophy centred on authenticity, terroir expression and minimal intervention.
Although Poulsard appears delicate in colour, it offers great aromatic complexity and a strong sense of place. The clay-limestone vineyards provide balance, freshness and a subtle mineral backbone, allowing the grape’s natural finesse to shine.
In the glass, the Grains de Poulsard 2022 displays a beautiful light ruby hue with amber reflections. The nose is delicate and expressive, revealing aromas of wild strawberries, red cherries and fresh berries, complemented by floral nuances and gentle spicy notes. On the palate, it is round, silky and harmonious, with fine tannins, vibrant freshness and an elegant finish.
A wonderfully versatile wine, capable of replacing both red and white wines at the table. Its lightness and complexity make it enjoyable throughout the year and particularly suited to delicate dishes where freshness and finesse are essential.
A genuine Jura terroir wine, combining tradition, elegance and effortless drinkability.
Food pairings: perfect with Morteau sausage, raclette, cured meats, grilled fish, white meats, smoked fish and delicately spiced international cuisine.
Highlights: 100% Jura Poulsard, traditional regional style, light and elegant red wine, fresh, fruity and highly gastronomic.
