Carema 2018 Chiussuma
Chiussuma’s Carema is a wine of place, purity and effort. Grown on the steep stone terraces of Carema, a tiny village at the edge of Piedmont, this 100% Nebbiolo reflects the extremes of heroic viticulture in the Alps.
The vines, cultivated by hand on pergolas carved into mountain slopes, yield low quantities of concentrated grapes. Vinified traditionally with native yeasts and long maceration, the wine matures in large oak casks for over two years.
It expresses wild rose, red currants, wet stone and alpine herbs on the nose. The palate is tense and vertical, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and mineral precision.
Chiussuma crafts a faithful, soulful expression of the Carema terroir—pure mountain Nebbiolo.
