The Barbaresco “Morassino” 2019 by Cascina Morassino is a pure and traditional expression of Nebbiolo from one of Piedmont’s most prestigious appellations. Produced in the historic village of Barbaresco, this wine embodies the essence of the local terroir — rolling hills, calcareous-clay soils, and a microclimate ideal for producing wines of finesse and structure.
Made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, it undergoes a meticulous vinification process with long maceration on the skins and 18 months of aging in large oak barrels, allowing the wine to mature gracefully while preserving its varietal character.
In the glass, it shows a light ruby-red color with garnet hues. The bouquet is elegant and multi-layered, offering aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and currant, intertwined with violet, licorice, cocoa, coffee, and chestnut leaf. These tertiary notes add depth and sophistication, revealing the slow evolution typical of great Barbaresco wines.
