Greco di Tufo Riserva “Miniere” 2020 – Cantine dell’Angelo
The Greco di Tufo Riserva “Miniere” 2020 by Cantine dell’Angelo is a remarkable white wine that captures the very soul of Campania’s terroir.
Its name, “Miniere” (“Mines”), pays homage to the ancient sulfur mines that lie beneath the vineyards in Campanaro, a unique area where the mineral-rich soils deeply influence the wine’s character.
The Greco grapes come from hillside vineyards cultivated with respect for the environment and soil health. After a gentle pressing, fermentation starts spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel at low temperatures, preserving the varietal purity and freshness. The wine then ages for several months in steel, allowing balance and aromatic depth to develop.
In the glass, it shines with a golden hue. The bouquet is rich and expressive, featuring mineral and flinty notes alongside hints of almond, peach, juniper, and sulfur. On the palate, it’s dry, fresh, and enveloping, with a sharp mineral edge and long, elegant persistence.
A white that embodies the true spirit of Tufo, perfect with seafood, shellfish, or soft cheeses, or enjoyed alone to fully appreciate its purity and territorial depth.
