The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin from Sylvie Esmonin is a refined and expressive Pinot Noir made from over 60-year-old vines located in the prestigious Côte de Nuits. Sourced from multiple estate-owned parcels, the grapes are farmed with minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to speak clearly.

Fermentation takes place using native yeasts, followed by 18–20 months of aging in French oak barrels, with 50% new wood to add depth and structure without overwhelming the fruit.

The nose offers layers of red and black fruits (cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant), subtle spice, and hints of toasted oak. The palate is smooth yet vibrant, with fine tannins, excellent balance and a long, savoury finish—a classic expression of Gevrey-Chambertin.

Already approachable now, this wine will age gracefully for years. Ideal with game, roasted meats, or aged cheeses.
