Gattinara Riserva Vigna Pelizzane 2015 from Torraccia del Piantavigna is crafted from the best parcels of the historic Pelizzane vineyard, one of the most prized crus of the Gattinara appellation. Grown on volcanic porphyry-rich soils, this Nebbiolo showcases depth, elegance and a strong sense of place.
The 2015 vintage offered ideal ripening conditions, leading to a wine of superb balance and complexity. Vinified traditionally with long maceration, native yeasts and aged for at least 4 years in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by extended bottle aging.
In the glass, it reveals a deep garnet hue. The nose is complex, with layers of dried rose petals, ripe red fruits, exotic spices, tobacco, licorice and graphite. On the palate, it is structured and harmonious, with silky tannins, lively acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. A meditative red, ideal for long aging and special occasions.
Perfect with game, slow-cooked meats, aged cheeses and traditional Piedmontese dishes.
