Derthona “Maggiora” is the flagship Timorasso by Vignaioli Battegazzore, born from a vertical selection of grapes within the estate’s most iconic vineyard. The Maggiora plot, which wraps around an entire hillside, offers varied exposures that allow staggered harvests and great aromatic complexity.
The soils, rich in marl and limestone, lend pronounced minerality and tension, while fermentation and aging in stainless steel on fine lees develop depth, precision, and aging potential.
In the glass, it shines with a deep golden hue. The nose reveals a broad and evolving bouquet: dried flowers, candied citrus, dried apricot, honey, sweet spices, flint and herbal notes. Over time, a petrol note emerges — a hallmark of serious age-worthy whites. On the palate, it is voluminous, salty, rich and perfectly balanced, with a long, elegant finish.
A profound white wine, ideal for contemplative sipping or paired with complex dishes like risotto, white meats, aged cheeses, foie gras or refined Asian cuisine.
