Champagne Extra Brut Gosset
The Gosset Champagne Extra Brut is the purest expression of the style of the oldest Champagne House, founded in Aÿ in 1584 by Pierre Gosset. With over four centuries of history, Gosset remains a benchmark for elegance and authenticity, preserving traditional methods while enhancing the natural expression of its grapes. A distinctive feature of the House is the avoidance of malolactic fermentation, which ensures the Champagne maintains its lively freshness, firm acidity and remarkable aging potential.
The Extra Brut Cuvée is crafted from a balanced blend of Pinot Noir (40%), adding structure and depth; Pinot Meunier (32%), bringing fruitiness and roundness; and Chardonnay (28%), which contributes freshness, finesse and tension. The base wines are vinified in stainless steel before the secondary fermentation in bottle, followed by at least 48 months of aging on the lees. After disgorgement, the bottles rest for an additional 6 to 9 months in the chalk cellars of the House before release.
In the glass, it shines bright straw yellow with a fine and persistent perlage, delivering immediate refinement. The bouquet is broad and inviting, opening with aromas of white-fleshed fruit, citrus, plums and white flowers, followed by hints of dried fruit and mineral notes. On the palate it is creamy, vibrant and deep, with a perfect balance between freshness, minerality and length. The finish is long, tense and mineral, leaving a lingering memory of fruit and finesse.
This Champagne is conceived as a versatile cuvée, ideal for refined aperitifs, fish tartare, shellfish and gourmet dishes based on seafood or white meats. At the same time, it is perfectly suited for special occasions and moments of celebration, embodying the heritage and timeless style of Gosset. An elegant, expressive and versatile sparkling wine that speaks both to connoisseurs and to those approaching the world of fine Champagne for the first time.
