Chablis 1er Cru “Côte de Léchet” 2023 Laurent Tribut
The Chablis 1er Cru “Côte de Léchet” 2023 from Domaine Laurent Tribut is a classic and refined expression of traditional Chablis. Made from 100% Chardonnay, it comes from two parcels within the Côte de Léchet Premier Cru, with vines planted in 1970 and 1992 on limestone-rich soils, which give the wine its distinctive mineral character.
Domaine Laurent Tribut is one of the leading names in Chablis, partly thanks to its historical connection with Vincent Dauvissat, where Laurent developed his winemaking expertise. The approach is traditional and low-intervention: grapes are hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks.
The wine is aged for 12 months in stainless steel and 6 months in oak barrels, mostly used (with a small percentage of new oak), preserving purity and minerality while adding subtle complexity and texture. Production is limited to around 9,000 bottles, highlighting the artisanal nature of the wine.
In the glass, it displays a pale yellow color with green reflections, bright and clear. The nose is elegant and layered, offering aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, herbal notes, and spices, alongside delicate hints of beeswax.
On the palate, it shows remarkable mineral tension, supported by vibrant acidity and refined structure. The finish is long, precise, and persistent, with a saline edge reflecting its limestone terroir.
This Chablis 1er Cru 2023 pairs beautifully with shellfish, seafood, and baked fish, and also has excellent aging potential, developing further complexity over time.
