Cabernet Riserva “Mumelter” 2018 Cantina Produttori di Bolzano
Cabernet Riserva “Mumelter” from Cantina Produttori di Bolzano is one of Alto Adige’s most iconic and age-worthy red wines, named after one of the winery’s founding families. This Riserva DOC combines mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, grown on porphyry-rich slopes around Bolzano at 330 meters above sea level.
Harvested between mid and late October, the wine undergoes fermentation in wooden vats, followed by one year of ageing in French barriques and large oak barrels. This process enhances its finesse and depth. In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby red color with violet hues, and a rich aromatic profile of blackcurrants, blackberries, blueberries, and a distinctive black pepper spice.
On the palate, it’s intense yet harmonious, with silky tannins, excellent balance, and a persistent finish. A wine of great elegance and structure, ideal for pairing with roasted or grilled red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
