The Cantina Produttori di Bolzano – also known as Kellerei Bozen – is one of the most prominent and forward-thinking wine cooperatives in South Tyrol. Founded in 2001 through the merger of the historic Gries (1908) and Santa Maddalena (1930) cooperatives, today the winery unites 224 local winegrowing families who share a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and the cultural heritage of their region.

From the beginning, the winery has been devoted to enhancing native grape varieties, particularly Lagrein, a structured and powerful red, and Schiava (Vernatsch), the grape behind the elegant and fruity Santa Maddalena DOC. Their production also includes outstanding Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, and complex blends that express the uniqueness of the Alpine-Mediterranean terroir of South Tyrol.

In 2018, the winery moved to a spectacular new building in San Maurizio, a state-of-the-art facility designed with CasaClima Wine® certification. The structure uses a gravity-flow system: grapes are delivered at the top and naturally flow through the winemaking process, descending floor by floor, minimizing mechanical intervention and preserving the integrity of the fruit. The result is precise, pure wines with intense aromatic profiles and well-balanced structures.

Under the skilled direction of winemaker Stephan Filippi, Cantina Bolzano crafts some of the region’s most celebrated labels. These include the multi-award-winning Lagrein Riserva Taber, as well as the two signature cuvées: TAL 1908 (red) and TAL 1930 (white), both showcasing the winery’s pursuit of excellence.

Thanks to its balance of tradition, innovation, and sustainability, Cantina Bolzano has become a leading name in South Tyrolean wine, known for producing elegant, age-worthy, and expressive wines that reflect the land, the people, and the passion behind each bottle.
