Barbera d'Asti La Crena 2020 Vietti
La Crena Barbera d’Asti by Vietti is a benchmark single-vineyard Barbera from Agliano Terme, in the heart of the classic Barbera d’Asti zone. The vineyard was planted in 1932, and sits on clay and limestone soils that are ideal for producing concentrated, long-lived red wines.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel with a long maceration, and the wine is aged for approximately 16 months in large oak casks and barriques, with no filtration before bottling.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red hue, offering a bouquet of ripe cherry, plum, sweet spices, licorice and cocoa. The palate is powerful and opulent, yet smooth and elegant, with vibrant acidity and silky tannins. It’s a wine of great balance, showing both concentration and finesse.
La Crena is one of the finest expressions of Barbera in Piedmont — a wine of character and depth, ideal for roasted meats, aged cheeses, braised dishes, or slow enjoyment over time.
