Barbera d'Alba "Bricco del Pilone" 2021 Piero Benevelli
Barbera d'Alba "Bricco del Pilone" comes from Barbera grapes grown in the commune of Monforte d'Alba in a terroir that gives the wine unique character and personality. The grapes are grown by Piero Benevelli according to the dictates of environmental sustainability, with very low yields.
After careful selection, the Barbera grapes are vinified in steel with a long maceration on the skins to extract color, tannins and aroma. The wine matures for 8 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. The goal is to preserve the distinctive traits of the Barbera grape variety and the terroir of Monforte.
Barbera d'Alba "Bricco del Pilone" 2021 shows an intense ruby red color with violet hues. The nose expresses intense aromas of black cherry, blueberry and plum, accompanied by spicy notes of clove and cinnamon. On the palate it is full, round, with a marked acidic freshness. Soft, silky tannins and minerality give this wine great balance and juiciness. Excellent with tagliatelle with meat sauce, braised beef, game and flavorful cheeses. A Barbera d'Alba of great character, capable of evolving for more than 5-8 years.
