Barbaresco Bordini 2009 La Spinetta
The Barbaresco Bordini DOCG by La Spinetta is an outstanding single-vineyard expression of 100% Nebbiolo, sourced from the Bordini cru in Neive, one of the most celebrated zones in the Barbaresco appellation. Grown at 240 meters above sea level on calcareous-marly soils with light sands, the 40-year-old vines yield grapes of great aromatic finesse and structure.
The vinification involves 14–15 days of maceration in temperature-controlled tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and 20 months of aging in second-use French oak barrels, and an additional 6 months in bottle before release.
The result is a Barbaresco that marries vibrant fruit with elegant structure: the nose reveals fresh notes of raspberry, rose petals, and subtle spice, while the palate is silky and harmonious, with polished tannins and persistent minerality. It pairs beautifully with rabbit ragù pasta, fish stews, and aged cheeses.
Bordini is a modern, accessible take on Barbaresco, yet retains the depth and soul of the Langhe’s Nebbiolo tradition.
