Monsupello is one of the most established wineries in Oltrepò Pavese, widely recognized for its expertise in traditional method sparkling wines. Although the estate dates back to 1893, its modern identity was shaped in the mid-20th century by Carlo Boatti, a key figure in the development of the region’s wine industry and a founding member of the local wine consortium.

The winery is located in Torricella Verzate and now covers حوالي 50 hectares, with vineyards also extending into Casteggio, Redavalle and Pietra de’ Giorgi. The vineyards lie on the first range of hills, at approximately 160 meters above sea level, benefiting from diverse exposures. The soils, rich in calcareous marl of Pliocene origin, play a crucial role in defining the wines’ structure, minerality and elegance.

Production is strongly focused on Metodo Classico sparkling wines, primarily based on Pinot Noir, the flagship grape of the region, often complemented by small percentages of Chardonnay. Winemaking follows a precise and controlled approach, including gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and extended lees aging, aimed at achieving complexity, finesse and longevity.

In addition to sparkling wines, Monsupello produces a wide range of still wines, both white and red, using local varieties such as Croatina, Barbera and Pinot Grigio, as well as international grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery’s philosophy is centered on crafting wines that are consistent, expressive and technically refined.

Today, Monsupello remains a family-run estate, continuing to combine heritage, terroir and modern winemaking expertise. It stands as one of the most reliable and recognized producers in Oltrepò Pavese, offering a diverse portfolio that consistently delivers quality and identity.
